Sapia Incorporated Introduces SMRN: Modbus/RTU Master Control for .NET 2003 |
Milford, MI October 9, 2003Sapia Inc. introduces SMRN: a Windows Forms Control that brings Modbus/RTU Master functionality to .NET applications. Within minutes, SMRN allows any .NET application to communicate through a serial port using Modbus/RTU protocol. SMRN features built-in Properties and Test Pages for communicating with Modbus Slave devices at design-time and optionally at run-time. This feature makes start-up and troubleshooting easy without writing a single line of code! SMRN provides a rich set of properties and methods for configuring the serial port and communicating with Modbus devices at run-time. Talking to a Modbus/RTU slave is as simple as calling a function with the necessary arguments. SMRN automatically builds the command, appends a CRC, sends the command out the serial port, and receives and validates the response. The application program just reads and writes simple 16-bit data values. For slave devices that provide floating point data, SMRN contains properties and methods for converting register data into floating point data, and vice-versa.
