National Instruments Offers 16-Bit Multifunction Data Acquisition for $395

National Instruments Offers 16-Bit Multifunction Data Acquisition for $395
NEWS RELEASE -- Aug. 14, 2002 -- Engineers and scientists now can benefit from National Instruments high quality 16-bit multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) at a lower price than ever before. The NI PCI-6013 and PCI-6014 provide 16-bit DAQ measurements that easily integrate with LabVIEW, National Instruments award-winning graphical development environment.

The devices feature 16-bit resolution on 16 single-ended or eight differential analog inputs at sampling rates up to 200 kS/s. Both the PCI-6013 and PCI-6014 offer eight digital I/O lines and two 24-bit counter/timers, while the PCI-6014 also includes two 16-bit analog outputs. The lower price point and basic functionality of these devices make them ideal for end users needing to make simple 16-bit sensor measurements or for OEMs buying the devices in bulk to incorporate into products that require accurate PCI-based measurement capabilities.

The PCI-6013 and PCI-6014 also include NI-DAQ driver software, a powerful programming interface for use with LabVIEW and a variety of application development environments, including LabWindows/CVI and general programming languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual C++. The devices also feature National Instruments high measurement quality, easy installation, and world-class technical support.

NI is leading the industry movement to 16-bit DAQ devices by combining custom digital ASICs and custom analog input and output design to optimize and control the performance of commercial off-the-shelf 16-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. NI 16-bit DAQ devices for PXI, PCI, FireWire, and PCMCIA deliver 16 times better resolution and significantly better accuracy at a marginal price difference when compared to 12-bit DAQ products.
