National Instruments' ni.com Named Top 10 Customer Support Site for Second Consecutive Year

AUSTIN, Texas -- Aug. 28, 2002 -- For the second consecutive year, the Association of Support Professionals (ASP) has named National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) Web site, ni.com, one of the year's 10 best Web support sites. The ASP, representing more than 1,000 technical support managers and professionals, praised ni.com for its extensive KnowledgeBase, overall usability and design, search implementation, and interactive features. Judges evaluated Web-based customer support sites and selected ten winners including National Instruments, Cisco Systems, Microsoft Great Plains, and Network Associates.

Visitors to ni.com/support find a wide range of information available in English, Spanish, German, and Japanese; more than 8,000 KnowledgeBase documents that cover common programming or installation questions; 2,400 example programs; and 1,400 tutorials. Frequently, the breadth and depth of content on ni.com routes customers to a solution faster than telephone support or email, and many solutions, such as the 15 online product advisors, discussion forums, and board diagnostic tools are available only on the Web.

The ASP Ten Best Web Support Sites competition evaluates the customer support Web sites of software and other technology vendors. A panel of industry experts assesses each site according to a scoring system based on 25 separate performance criteria. The ASP will publish a book-length report in September that will profile this year's ten winning sites.
