National Instruments--LabVIEW Zone Online Community Unites LabVIEW Users

Developers Network with Peers, Build LabVIEW Skills Using a Comprehensive Online Resource

NEWS RELEASE -- Oct. 21, 2002 -- In response to requests from the LabVIEW user base, NI today unveiled LabVIEW Zone, a comprehensive online community for LabVIEW developers on ni.com. Through LabVIEW Zone, LabVIEW users worldwide can share code and application solutions, network with other users, and access a wide range of NI and user-developed resources to improve their LabVIEW skills.

There are a multitude of LabVIEW resources on the Web, but they are often hard to find. Now with LabVIEW Zone, an extension of NI Developer Zone designed exclusively for LabVIEW users, LabVIEW developers have a single, definitive resource for all of this information.

LabVIEW Zone includes sections for networking, learning, and more. Users can visit the learning center to prepare for LabVIEW development certification or to take an online LabVIEW tutorial. They can browse the code sharing and discussion forums to find solutions to their latest applications or visit the library of in-depth technical articles on LabVIEW. In addition to the professional development resources, LabVIEW Zone features a quarterly article from the inventor of LabVIEW, Jeff Kodosky, sharing the vision, history, and future of LabVIEW. Developers also can participate in a variety of competitions and games in their free time.

Because LabVIEW Zone is user-driven, the evolution of the site relies heavily on the community's participation and feedback. For example, future additions and improvements to the site will be made based on requests from LabVIEW users, and individuals are encouraged to create new user groups based on their specific LabVIEW interests. LabVIEW developers can join this online community by visiting ni.com/labviewzone.
